FMS Wine Marketing is a Cape Town-based wine trade and export company that has been operating since 2000. Based at Unit 106, Rapallo, 292 Beach Road in Sea Point, the company occupies a distinctive position in the South African wine industry -- not as a producer or estate, but as a specialist in brand creation, wine marketing, and international trade.
The founding director brought over twenty years of experience in the import-export industry, initially in fresh produce before transitioning to wine and spirits. Since 2000, FMS has exported entry to premium level branded wines from South Africa to international markets. In 2009, the company launched its own wine brand, New Beginnings, which remains the flagship of the FMS portfolio. From 2014, FMS expanded into private label brand creation as a turnkey service -- designing, sourcing, and producing custom wine, champagne, beer, and spirits brands for clients worldwide.
The business model encompasses three core activities. First, export of South African wines including the New Beginnings brand. Second, supply of wines, whisky, cognac, champagne, and other spirits from France, Ireland, Scotland, and Spain directly to clients around the world. Third, bulk wine and spirits trading, supplying local and international producers who need to supplement their annual production.
FMS Wine Marketing is not a visitor-facing wine estate. There is no tasting room, no vineyard to walk, and no cellar door. The company operates as a trade business from its Sea Point office, open Tuesday to Thursday 9am to 6pm. It exists to connect South African wine with the world -- through branding, export logistics, and market development.
